Facilitation of Meetings

Although internal company facilitators are highly effective in most situations, occasionally a company may prefer to use an external facilitator. Some of these situations could include:

• A senior leadership team meeting
• An exceptionally complex meeting requiring a variety of facilitation methodologies
• A meeting in which tough issues need to be put on the table or the group's thinking needs to be challenged
• A meeting that would benefit from the presence of an objective third party
• A meeting that uses diagnostic instruments requiring specific certifications

In general, external facilitators provide separation of the role of leader from the role of facilitator. This separation allows the leader to freely express his or her point of view, with reduced concern that this expression will dampen the free expression of other points of view. External facilitators are also useful for specialized applications such as facilitating panel discussions, breakout sessions, and virtual meetings.

Strategic Planning sessions
