Marilyn Bushey Karen Gordon

A serial entrepreneur, Marilyn started her first business and first partnership in high school when she and a friend opened a business planning children's birthday parties. It was a fun way to use her creativity and to entertain people, something that she found she loved to do.

After graduating from college she worked for the Federal Government in Huntsville, Alabama as a purchasing agent, purchasing target missiles, and then as a contract negotiator. It was there that she met the love of her life, her husband Brian. She moved with Brian several times while he was with General Electric, and they finally landed in Dallas. Marilyn went to work for Manpower, Inc. managing one of their largest offices, but the dream of owning her own business was always there.

That dream was realized again when she opened The Temporary File, a full service temporary service. Marilyn enjoyed the challenges, opportunities and the autonomy owning her own business offered. After five years she was approached by PDS Technical Services to buy her business and come to work for them. She became their Director of Temporary Services and later led their Group Leasing Division. She stayed with PDS until the entrepreneurial bug bit again and she and her second partner opened Power Performance and Communication, Inc.

For Marilyn, PowerPAC was the opportunity to live out her passion for learning which she had discovered as a little girl who went to the library each week and filled a wagon with books and read them cover to cover. She became a trainer, facilitator and eventually an executive coach doing what she loves most to do, helping people grow personally and professionally. As her 5 Dynamics profile says, “Marilyn is dedicated to the art of expressing ideas and sharing them with others. It doesn't matter how many people there are or at what level she is communicating, she does it effortlessly.”
